This marker represents the most frontier of preventive medicine. Using powerful Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning algorithms, this analysis compares your microbial "fingerprint" against databases of healthy and sick individuals. The system does not issue medical diagnoses, but rather calculates your relative risk or predisposition to developing various pathologies, allowing you to take preventive measures long before the first clinical symptoms appear.
Pathology Risk Estimation
Summary
Overview
Modern science has shown that virtually all chronic diseases (metabolic, autoimmune, neurological, and gastrointestinal) leave a specific "signature" or trace in the gut microbiome.
When a disease begins to develop, the intestinal ecosystem changes: certain protective bacteria disappear and other opportunistic ones thrive, altering the production of key metabolites.
For this analysis, we have trained our Artificial Intelligence by analyzing thousands of gut genomes. The algorithm learns to recognize these complex hidden patterns (the "microbial signatures of disease"). By analyzing your sample, the AI scans your ecosystem for similarities to these patterns. As scientific research advances at a breakneck pace, this prediction panel is dynamic: it continuously expands and updates, incorporating new risk models for an ever-increasing range of health conditions.
Health impact
The ability to predict risk based on the microbiome radically changes the medical approach, shifting from reactive to proactive:
- Early Warning System: Alterations in the microbiota often precede other traditional clinical markers (such as changes in blood tests) by months or even years. Identifying high risk gives you a valuable window of time to act.
- Actionable Preventive Medicine: Unlike your human genetics (your DNA), which you cannot change, your microbiome is highly malleable. If the algorithm detects a high predisposition towards an inflammatory or metabolic condition, you can modify that risk by changing your ecosystem through diet, prebiotics, and probiotics.
- Continuous Surveillance: Being a generic and scalable tool, monitoring this risk over time allows you to measurably assess whether your lifestyle changes are moving you away from disease trajectories.
Technical report
The risk prediction engine is based on machine learning classifiers. The bioinformatics pipeline does not analyze a single gene or bacteria but rather employs a multidimensional approach: it evaluates thousands of features simultaneously, including species/strain-level relative abundances, metabolic pathway profiles (functional genes), and diversity markers.
These features are fed into pre-trained predictive models for various pathology cohorts. The output is normalized and presented as a Relative Risk (Probability Score) compared to a healthy control population.
Important Note: Elevated risk in a specific pathology indicates a strong ecological similarity to the diseased cohort, but does not constitute a medical diagnosis. It is a screening tool designed to guide lifestyle interventions or suggest complementary clinical evaluations with a specialist.
